The Story Begins | Resort 2021 Collection

With the most recent launch of our 2021 Resort Collection we thought it would be fun to bring you along...A little sneak peak into what inspired our collection, a "behind the scenes" as we'd like to call it and where our story began. Every collection starts with inspiration, what is inspiring us in the moment. We don't set boundaries for our inspiration, we let it move through us like the waves of St. Barth. Colors, textures, the aqua blue seas of Petit St. Jean the vibrant tropical flowers that adorn the island or the emerald green palms that line the streets of Gustavia.   We take it all in, and put our own Mer spin on it! We add hand...

Stay I Cheval Blanc Isle de France

I'm often asked where I would stay if visiting St. Barth for the first time.  My answer has always been Hotel Cheval Blanc Isle de France.  This dreamy boutique hotel is the perfect combination of French chic, Island chill and American style hospitality.  And after an extensive renovation post hurricane Irma its even more gorgeous than ever!   It's our family tradition to enjoy Easter day lunch at the beach restaurant with our feet in the sand and a drink (or two) in our hands.  I love how family friendly they are...my kids have been participating in their annual sandcastle contest since they were toddlers.  I look forward to my next visit in a few weeks!   Perrier or Rose? Your wish...

Play I Surfing

One of the first things we do after dropping our bags off at the villa is head to L’Orient to check in with Nathan our favorite surf instructor and get set up with our boards!     (Hurricane update: our beloved surf shack was completely destroyed by Irma ...tossed aside by angry waves and wicked winds.  But the local surf community is committed to rebuilding so future generations of surfers can continue enjoying this favorite island landmark!) He’s great with adults, but fantastic with the kids....super patient and very protective of them out there on the reef.  Surf spots for every level are found on the island.  We love L'Orient in the mornings. If you are feeling adventurous the waves at...

Shop I Lili Belle

10 years ago I bought my first Isabel Marant dress at Lili Belle. Today as I flip through my closet most of my favorite pieces can be traced back to this impeccably chic shop situated in St Jean next to the eponymous Nikki Beach. Recognized as the spot to buy dreamy gauzy scarves and carefree beach bags, Lili Belle also carries brands including that you will want to wear over and over again at home including Claude Pierlot, BA&SH and FINE cashmere among other cool girl brands.  But what makes this shop so perfect is the owner Virginie who hands down has one of the best eyes in the business.  Making frequent trips to her hometown of Paris, she scouts...

Play I Rosé All Day!

It’s now a pop culture catch phrase, but “rose’ all day” I'm convinced was invented on the island. It’s practically a professional sport! There is no place better on earth to enjoy a glass or two (or even three) of ice cold Rose than St Barth.   I prefer mine served in an oversized wine glass loaded with ice and the palest of pinks, and more often then not by the magnum. Rose’ just looks prettier and tastes better in St Barth. My favorite spot to imbib is beach side at Cheval Blanc or on the patio at Sante Fe Restaurant atop one of the highest peaks of the island. A favorite is Clos Beylesse  (plus the blue bottle looks super chic...
